British
Chamber of Business in South Africa
The British Chamber of Business in Southern
Africa (British Chamber) which grew from the South Africa
Britain Trade Association (SABRITA - formed in 1965), is
principally involved in the advance of bilateral trade and
investment between the United Kingdom and southern Africa.
It aims to assist southern African companies to expand their
markets. The British Chamber's membership is based upon those
with business interests in both regions.
Italian-South
African Chamber of Trade and Industries
The Chamber was officially recognised
by the Italian Ministry of Foreign Trade as an Italian Chamber
of Commerce abroad in 1990. As such, it is part of a closely-knit
network comprising some 72 Italian bilateral chambers spread
throughout the world, under Assocamerestero (www.assocamerestero.com),
and another 103 chambers in Italy, one in every provincial
capital, (www.unioncamere.it).
On-line telecommunications with the above network, and with
Cerved, and Guida Monaci databases, supply information on
an unlimited number of import-export oriented Italian firms.
ItalCham is a founder member of Eurochamber, the Chamber
of Commerce which unites the bilateral chambers of the European
Union countries. This enables us to assist Members and clients
with queries regarding trade and joint-venture opportunities
with Europe in general. ItalCham also posesses up-to-date
local business data bases, Ezeedex (Who Does What), is Member
of the South African Institute of Race Relations (for information
and statistics) and of the Johannesburg Chamber of Commerce,
all of which are invaluable for Members and clients who are
looking to the South African market. By virtue of the nature
of the Italian-origin community in South Africa, ItalCham's
membership is characterised by a very strong representation
of successful small-medium entrepreneurs who have distinguished
themselves in all sectors of commercial and industrial endeavour.
